Complete tenth-order QED contribution to the muon g-2.
We report the result of our calculation of the complete tenth-order QED terms of the muon g-2. Our result is a(μ)((10))=753.29 (1.04) in units of (α/π)(5), which is about 4.5 s.d. larger than the leading-logarithmic estimate 663(20). We also improve the precision of the eighth-order QED term of a(μ), obtaining a(μ)((8))=130.8794 (63) in units of (α/π)(4). The new QED contribution is a(μ)(QED)=1...
متن کاملSixth-Order Vacuum-Polarization Contribution to the Lamb Shift of the Muonic Hydrogen
The sixth-order electron-loop vacuum-polarization contribution to the 2P1/2 − 2S1/2 Lamb shift of the muonic hydrogen (μ−p+ bound state) has been evaluated numerically. Our result is 0.005295 (1) meV. This eliminates the largest uncertainty in the theoretical calculation. Combined with the proposed precision measurement of the Lamb shift it will lead to a very precise determination of the proto...
متن کاملHigher-order hadronic and heavy-lepton contributions to the anomalous magnetic moment
We report about recent results obtained for the muon anomalous magnetic moment. Three-loop kernel functions have been computed to obtain the next-to-next-to-leading-order hadronic vacuum polarization contributions. The numerical result, a had,NNLO μ = 1.24± 0.01× 10−10, is of the same order of magnitude as the current uncertainty from the hadronic contributions. For heavylepton corrections, ana...
متن کاملHadronic contribution to the muon anomalous magnetic moment to next-to-next-to-leading order
We compute the next-to-next-to-leading order hadronic contribution to the muon anomalous magnetic moment originating from the photon vacuum polarization. The corresponding three-loop kernel functions are calculated using asymptotic expansion techniques which lead to analytic expressions. Our final result, a μ = 1.24± 0.01 × 10−10, has the same order of magnitude as the current uncertainty of th...
متن کاملLattice calculation of the lowest-order hadronic contribution to the muon anomalous magnetic moment.
We present a quenched lattice calculation of the lowest order [O(alpha(2))] hadronic contribution to the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon which arises from the hadronic vacuum polarization. A general method is presented for computing entirely in Euclidean space, obviating the need for the usual dispersive treatment which relies on experimental data for e(+)e(-) annihilation to hadrons. Whi...
